A short description: Ultra Sports Pafos Marathon is an event that has grown bigger and better over the years and it is now recognized as the major road race in Cyprus, attracting runners from more than 20 different countries. All finishers will receive a souvenir T-shirt, a commemorative race medal and an exclusive Race Certificate. Trophies will be awarded in 50 different age group categories.
Race Course : The start and finish areas for the Half Marathon & 10 km races are located at the Pafos Mediaeval Fort square nearby the world famous Pafos fishing harbour. The Marathon will start from Petra tou Romiou (Birthplace of Aphrodite goddess of love and beauty) and finish at the Pafos Mediaeval Fort square. Entertainment : A number of interesting functions have been prepared for the runners such as the Marathon eve Pasta Dinner (tickets are available at CY £8,00) on Saturday evening (5th March 2005) prior to the run at the Basilica Complex Holiday Resort. On race day the entertainment activity programme will include the Pafos Municipality Band who will perform a full musical programme, a dancing group who will perform both Greek / Cypriot folk dance and invite participants / spectators to join in. A "bouncy" castle, which will be fully supervised, is also being provided for small children.

Race highlights : At the moment the number of runners taking part has swollen to 100. The Marocaine runner Mr. Mohamed Ettalbi who will be running the Ultra Sports Pafos Half Marathon 2005 has a personal record 62 minutes and 39 seconds. The Norwegian runner Mr. Ole Morten Dandnes will be running his 100th Half Marathon in Pafos and a special price will be waiting for him in Norway if he completes successfully Pafos race. The German Ultra Marathoner Mr. Joerg Koenig (24 hours 179 kms, 48 hours 271 kms and 9 days 700 kms) will be participating in the Marathon distance.
