THE PETZL SDW100 IS A 100 MILE FOOT RACE TAKING IN THE ENTIRE SOUTH DOWNS WAY NATIONAL TRAIL. THE SOUTH DOWNS WAY BOASTS STUNNING ROLLING HILLS, ANCIENT FORTS, VISITS TO PICTURESQUE VILLAGES AND EXPANSIVE VIEWS ACROSS SOUTHERN ENGLAND. The course travels along the chalk ridgeway, starting just outside of Winchester, the capital city of Saxon England and heading due east until the trail ends in Eastbourne. The South Downs tower over Southern England affording runners awe inspiring views north across the Weald and south across the coast and the Channel. As with all Centurion events, runners will be fully supported by 15 well stocked aid stations, full medical support and course markings through difficult areas in addition to the pre-existing national trail waymarkers. The race is a continuation of that founded by Jen Jackson in 2010, although in the reverse direction to the South Downs Way Race. We are pleased to announce Petzl as title sponsor for the 2013 race and the addition of prize money to the first 3 men and first 3 women finishers.
