Geen echte trail, maar een wedstrijd over een trail parcours van 1,1 mijl lang.
The 7th Enduroman UK and associated events will take place inside the stunning private estate at Avon Tyrrell, Hampshire on the weekend of 3Oth May to 1st June 2014. The event for the third year will include the Enduroman Ultra Marathon series; and 2014 sees the introduction of two new races in addition to the 100 Mile race: the 50 and 200 miles Ultra Marathon. The weekend will also include 4 Ultra Triathlon races, one of which is a World Cup race (More info). The event has been designed so that all 7 races finish on the same day creating an atmosphere that only can be experienced in the world of Enduroman.
Enduroman 200/100/50 Ultra:
The 100 mile ultra marathon has proved a popular event over the last 3 years which is held around the same run course as the Ultra Triathlon races. In 2014, there will be two additional ultra marathon races. The 50 miles race and the 100 miles race. Athletes will run 182/91/46 laps of an exact 1.10 mile course around the Avon Tyrrell estate. Athletes will have the unique opportunity to run a closed circuit ultra marathon, be able to camp beside the course and be able to see their support crew on a regular basis.
The 100/50 races will start at the same time at 14:00 on Saturday 31st May and both have achievable cut off times of 36 hours and 18 hours respectively. The 200 miles race is a completely different animal which Enduroman believe to be an extreme challenge. Athletes will have a 48 hour cut off and athletes must complete their first 100 miles in 24 hours of less. Only the foolsih will enter the 200; and only the brave will finish!
Enduroman 200 Ultra: Friday 30th May 2014 - 22:00
Enduroman 100/50 Ultra: Saturday 31st May 2014 - 2.00pm
All athletes will be required to sign a disclaimer at race registration. Athletes DO NOT need to obtain a medical certificate from their doctors.
CUT OFF TIMES:
Enduroman 50 Ultra: 18 hours
Enduroman 100 Ultra: 36 hours
Enduroman 200 Ultra: 48 hours (24 hours at the 100 miles point)
The 1.10 mile run course is entirely closed to traffic, around the trails within the private estate. There is only a 25m stretch of tarmac, the remainder of the course is woodland paths and trails. The run course starts and finishes at the Avon Tyrrell Centre (Turning Circle). You will need torches at night. Athletes will run the last lap in reverse. This will give everybody out of the run course the opportunity to identify a finisher and congratulate them in the usual Enduroman style. It is an undulating course and athletes will have to contend with tree roots, low tree branches and narrow paths that will become slippy in damp weather. It is a tough course but feedback each year continues to show that there is enough there to keep the athletes interested inside this stunning private estate.
