Guernsey Ultra 2015
The Guernsey folk have managed to create an evil coast line that is nasty to say the least. I defy you to tread lightly once you leave the 17 miles of steep paths that have a habit of dropping down towards the sea level before reaching for the sky! Did I mention steps? Never have I sworn before so loudly at steps. They seem to have been designed in such a way as to make your calve muscles scream and twitch!
The place names are sure to keep you on your toes, guessing the views that you will happen upon round each corner ; Bluebell Wood, the name doesnt do it justice and you will have to stop to catch your breath and admire the colours.
Stunningly beautiful to say the least are the cliffs of Guernsey, very different from Jersey in their topography.
The route starts in St Peter Port and heads straight out onto the cliffs for 17 miles before dropping down onto the more gentle roads and trails that follow the coast line, before returning to St. Peter PortThe Guernsey Ultra will join up with the 5 Islands Ultra for this stage in their adventure. Please refer to Route Map for Day 2 of Five Islands Ultra .
7am on Sunday 24th May will see the start of this testing ultra, will you be there?
